Lifespan Integration Lifespan Integration was developed by American Psychotherapist Peggy Pace in 2002, providing a unique and holistic approach to healing trauma without re-traumatising. As discussed on The Lifespan Integration website. “Lifespan Integration is a very gentle method which works on a deep neural level to change patterned responses and outmoded defensive strategies. LI therapy helps people connect unpleasant feelings and dysfunctional patterns with the memories of the past events from which these feelings and strategies originated. Making these connections at a deep level of the body-mind “re-sets” the neural system so that it is more in line with the current life situation. This “re-setting” happens very rapidly for most people. After LI therapy, people find themselves spontaneously reacting to current stress in more age appropriate ways. After several sessions of LI, clients have reported that they feel better about life, they are more self-accepting, and are better able to enjoy their intimate relationships.” Lifespan Integration integrates your past inner child with your current adult self. It supports your adult self to offer the unmet needs that were not there for your child. This approach can be valuable in healing Attachment issues, Depression, Trauma, Anxiety and other issues. When I ask you to listen to me and you start giving advice, you have not done what I asked. When I ask you to listen to me and you begin to tell me why I shouldn't feel that way, you are trampling on my feelings. When I ask you to listen to me and you feel you have to do something To solve my problems you have failed me, Strange as it may seem. When you do something for me that I can and need to do for myself, you contribute to my fear and weakness. So, Please listen and just hear me, And, if you want to talk, Wait a minute for your turn: and I will listen to you. Anon

The Dandelion is the flower of survival, it displays it's bright yellow head in many different areas and terrains, whether in gardens, pathways or rough and desolate grounds. As a wild flower it can be recognised for its strength, determination and ability to adapt, survive and thrive in difficult situations. The dandelion clock is the whitehead of a dandelion which is full of seeds and develops after the yellow dandelion flowers. I often liken the dandelion clock holding all its seeds to the fears, difficulties and problems we are hanging onto but have not yet faced in our lives. Counselling can offer a safe non-judgmental place in which to face and explore these fears and difficulties we are experiencing. Through turning to face our fears we are able to blow them away like the seeds of the dandelion clock, all though we may need to do this lots of times, facing our fears can allow us to feel freeing of the control that they have over us. Enabling us to feel empowered, to find our own way to take control of our lives and the choices we make. Dandelion seeds flying free symbolises freedom.
